About us

At BlueBella Arts, we are dedicated to providing young minds aged 6 to 18 with the tools to explore their creative abilities and artistic passions.

Our workshops, led by experienced and passionate artistic educators, encourage students to express themselves through various visual arts mediums. We believe in cultivating a nurturing environment where learning is a joyful journey. Discover how art can enhance emotional well-being and academic performance for your child.

When searching for an arts program (that wasn't focused on fine arts) for her own child, Ally found there to be a lack of services in the Canberra region, particularly on the north side. Being an artist herself, she quickly realised this gap needed to be filled. On a disability pension, in an uncertain economy, unable to afford most extra-curricular activities available in the area, she knew it needed to be affordable to all families, which is why when she suggest reduced-cost placements for low-income families to her business partner, he agreed wholeheartedly.

From that quick search for creative workshops for her own child, with a passion for educating young people already, BlueBella Arts was born.

Being parents themselves, the BlueBella Arts leadership know child safety and well-being are paramount, this is why all educators hold (ACT)WWVP cards and have undergone National Police Checks.

Having a child with food allergies and having literally helped bring a man back to life with CPR, Ally insists all lead educators have current First aid and CPR certification.

We are an allergy friendly service provider.

FAQ's

Do you have a question for us? You might find the answer here!

We have workshops to suit children aged 6-18, no matter their artistic abilities. If they can use their hands, they can create art!

Our workshops are specifically designed with children, tweens and teens in mind and we alter our teaching style to suit each childs individual needs and meet them where they are at.

We are able to help your child learn skills in drawing, painting (both acrylic and watercolour), oil pastels, dry pastels, mixed media (using multiple mediums on a single image), air-dry clay, polymer clay (only available in term-based classes due to the need to be baked in the oven), printmaking and more

No! We offer many different art mediums and styles in our workshops.

If your child is interested in drawing, we can assist them in improving their skills, even if they only draw stick figures; but if their interest lies in clay sculpture for example, they don't necessarily need impressive drawing skills.

Whilst we understand some younger children may have separation issues and may be nervous about attending, or you may have issues in leaving them, we do encourage parents to allow them to experience the workshops independently.

We find that children are able to be more openly creative if they don't feel the need to impress anyone, and because they love you so much, they often want to impress you!

If your child struggles to be away from you, just let us know and we can give them a little extra support to feel safe and welcomed.

If any issues arise during the workshop, we will happily give you a call to come back and support your little artist to finish the session.

No, as we are not a child-care provider but an extra-curricular activity provider, we are unable to provide CCS benefits.

No.

As there are many arts based NDIS providers, we recognised a gap in the market for arts-based workshop providers specifically for non-NDIS participants so have chosen not to register.

If you are after NDIS registered providers however, we are happy to point you in the direction of local providers (our creative director has sees arts therapist herself!).

We understand extra-curricular activities can be expensive, and prices are often out of reach for low income families.

So that we are affordable to as many families as possible, we offer ~15% discount on our sessions that run alongside school terms whether you choose to pay per week or per term.

*We only offer a discount to commonwealth concession card holders (the yellow low income card or the blue pensions card) where the child is named on the card and we must sight the card for each term your child is enrolled to confirm eligibility.
